Keswick Hall

Charlottesville, Virginia

Charlottesville, Virginia is a quaint college town with beautiful rolling hills, history and is home to the University of Virginia (UVA). Many couples based in Washington, DC actually consider it is a mini-destination wedding site because of its proximity to DC, the town’s charm and many times their ties to the University. Personally, I think its a great option for a destination type wedding, especially if most of your guests are in the Mid-Atlantic area and can drive in for the weekend.

Keswick Hall is a full-service resort on 600 acres near Thomas Jefferson’s historic estate, Monticello. The hotel only has 48 rooms so depending on your invite list, renting out the entire places just for your event might not be out of reach. Keswick hall has many available event spaces for your wedding.

Keswick Ballroom seats up to 160 for a seated dinner with space for a dance floor and entertainment

The Lower Terrace is used for tented events (pictured) and allows for enough space for up to 400 guests

The Horizon Pool (amazing for an outdoor cocktail hour)

There are many other spaces at the hotel that would make great locations for your rehearsal dinner, wedding party events, or post-wedding brunch.

Also, there are many options for indoor and outdoor wedding ceremony locations.

You could easily host every part of your event at the hotel and stay put the whole weekend  and so could your guests with the spa, golf course and multiple restaurants OR there are lots of great options around town for additional hotel room blocks and locations for your rehearsal dinner, brunch etc. Either way make sure you include information in your guests gift bags about all of the amazing things there are to do nearby (historic spots, shopping, wineries, UVA, etc) which is all about 25 minutes away from the resort. Keswick even provides a few suggested itineraries , so helpful! If you need a second hotel option for your guests, there is a Comfort Inn less than 4 miles from Keswick.
