North Carolina Beach Weddings, Outer Banks WeddingsOuter Banks, North Carolina
Somehow I have never made my way to the Outer Banks area of North Carolina. I grew up in Florida and spent lots of time vacationing in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee but have always wanted to visit the Outer Banks.
The Outer Banks have long been the go-to vacation spot for families, couples and just about anyone looking for a relaxing, beach vacation. Often referred to as “OBX” (I am sure you have seen the bumper stickers if you are in the Southeast or MidAtlantic regions), this series of barrier island makes a fantastic destination for weddings. In the past we have posted about Quaint Beach Towns for Weddings and this area should certainly be on that list.
We often suggest using Convention & Visitor’s Bureaus as resources for finding wedding locations and vendors, especially when you live out of town. The Outer Banks has an incredible website for weddings and events that includes tons of wedding locations, not only for reception but also places for ceremonies including a list of churches. This website is a fantastic resource for Outer Banks brides, be sure to check it out.
I have spotted some gorgeous weddings at the Sanderling Inn in Duck, North Carolina. If you are looking for a great hotel for your guests where you can also host your wedding on the beach and a fun oceanside reception, this could be a great option for you.
While working on this post I have seen tons of images of Manteo, North Carolina on Roanoke Island. It looks like such a quaint, sweet little beach town that would be perfect for a low-key, intimate beach wedding… especially one that you wanted to turn into a relaxing vacation for your guests. Their website also lists lots of great wedding information and there is also information on the regular Outer Banks site as well.
